 photo 93d6de2a-3dc0-4f51-8fe2-117f98d4b96b.jpg

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist and on Tumblr and everywhere! I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

Rules kept from last year:
If you want to request a queerplatonic ship you just use this symbol: ~ instead of the: / Read more about the concept HERE

"I won't kill you," he says, wings fluttering as his hands reach toward his dearest friend, "but I also must not allow you to eat me."

"Come on, Cas," Dean returns, teeth grown longer and bloody gnashing at his outstretched fingers, "just a little bite."

One, he thinks, the day Imrahil brings forth his daughter, a delicate, willowy creature who seems all shy glances and murmured words throughout the banquet, until he catches her after the meal in the stables, feeding pilfered apples to the horses, and she begs him with shining eyes for the names and stories of each, as though she would have preferred them to be her dinner companions.

Two, he thinks, the day she says softly that a girl from the seaside has little chance to ride, and his sister gives him a swift kick under the table (so subtly and elegantly delivered that none would know it from her face, Eowyn has grown so ladylike) before she says, “But my brother the King would love to ride out with you, I am certain!” and he is grateful all that day, though his shin throbs with every hoofbeat.

Three, he thinks, the day they are wed, and he presents her with a gleaming grey, just the shade of the ocean pearls in her hair, and she lays a kiss upon his lips and says, “I love your gift, husband, but I love thee all the more.”

Narnia, Peter and Edmund, back to back
The traitorous Telmarine lords were advancing quickly towards him and for the briefest of moments, Peter thought perhaps his time in all worlds was finally coming to an end. He stood firm and held his sword as steadily as his uninjured arm would allow and thought that whatever history would say of him in the future, the one thing he could never be called is a coward.

One of the Telmarine men loomed before him and swung his sword towards the High King but instead of flesh, the weapon met another blade, the sound of steel against steel ringing in Peter's ears as a familiar voice said sharply, "I'm here, Brother," followed by "Narnia, Narnia! The Lion!"

Harry Potter, Harry, A favorite color of his had been scarlet.
Whenever he had felt lonely he had picked up a book, those things littered the Dursley's home but where naturall left unopened, because Uncle Vernon felt it wasn't a proper pass time for boys like Dudley. So Harry had grown up without so much as a single piece of fabric owned by himself that wasn't from Dudley; but he had many books around him that instructed the boy to learn many things. This way he had learned to cook, sew and read maps; the only thing reinforced by his uncles was the cooking habit, by which they had Harry doing all the cooking whenever Aunt Petunia didn't felt like it.
Of course, working wasn't a bad thing to learn at all; it meant that he could ensure his own survival and that was beneficial, but they only reinforced it because he was a nuisance to them and making him work at least meant he was proving himself not to be a product of his corrupt parents as Uncle Vernon had kindly put it once.
That day the amazing tomato sauce that Harry cooked had suddenly burned hot enough that it had gone flying around the kitchen and promptly landed on the table, kitchen appliances and Aunt Petunia's recently taken family photos.
It had landed him a month punishment and he was banned from the kitchen, but the child couldn't help but smile.
Scarlet had been his favourite colour ever since that accident.

Harry Potter, Harry, A few of his favorite foods had been apples, crackers, Mars Bars, potatoes in the form of chips and roasted potatoes, steak, and treacle tart.
Harry considered himself lucky that he could find his favorite foods in the wizard world where much was contrary to the life he knew before Hogwarts.

Fruit was fruit with the same names & most everything else had an equivalent.

But he had a difficult time explaining (especially to Ron's dad. who had an interest in all things Muggle) that Mars Bars had nothing to do with the planet or the Roman god of war,

He glances at his eldest acting as proper as any eleven-year-old boy who has his siblings around and wants the parental figures to believe he is actually behaving. Not an innocent Lily which is taking a nap at the kitchen table, open mouthed and leaving a mess atop her plate; nor geeky, as Albus who seems to be working hard on honoring both of his namesakes by knowing many of James' books already.
He likes this aspect of James, it reminds him of a time he was forced to act mature at his uncles' house and that always led him to feel accomplished that his kids wouldn't go through the same treatment.
even though he probably relates the most with Albus.
He goes by James' side and hugs him unceremoniously, making James spiky hairstyle even more of a mess and laughing out loud when he hears the subsequent protest.
That boy is always acting as if he is so cool but he secretly likes him doing this - he once heard Ginny and James talking about Harry's lack of hugs when he was younger. That conversations made him show his affections more easily.
Now he is only annoying, though, if James' annoyed glare says anything. After all, his son isn't the same kid he gave his muggle toys (he had played with horse, knight and soldier figurines when he was a small child and his aunt had the nice act of sending him some of it by owl post when she learned he and Ginny were expecting).
-With that kind of look you'll get grounded at Hogwarts son, I suggest you adopt the attitude of your siblings if you don't want us to get a letter about you being expelled - Harry says laughing harder this time.
James stomps off and he thinks too bad the kid took after both him and Ginny.
They weren't famous for their patience after all.

Harry Potter, Harry, Harry had been a fan of wizarding comics like Loony Nonby vs. Cornish Pixie.
When Harry read to his children, he steered away from the most popular books, which were always about heroes or superheroes, or quests or dragons or archvillains; instead, he gravitated towards frivalous stories, adventures and misadventures with no grand schemes, no master plots.

"Look, Lily," he said to his youngest ("Daaaad," complained James, "let me see, she's too young to read"), "the Cornish Pixies have trapped Loony Nonby inside his own hat again" -- at which point all the Potters howled with laughter.

(Ten years ago, if you had told Harry that he'd have such fond memories in any way associated with Gilderoy Lockhart, he'd have sent you to St Mungo's to check for spell damage.)
Greek Mythology, Cassandra, running to stand still
Kassandra, running to stand still (22)
The future will just keep coming at her no matter what she does. She’s tried to run away from the burden, but the visions came at the same speed from the opposite direction, as if through a mirror.
Maybe when she gives up, she can be swept all the way into a past when she didn’t know what was going to happen (but no – that would be kind).

Anastasia, Anya/Dimitri, how did you learn so many languages?
Narnia, Susan +/ Edmund I haven't heard you call me sister/I haven't heard it said in years/but it's a funny thing, now it's the only thing I wanna hear
On what would have been Edmund's 30th birthday, Susan brought flowers to the cemetery. In some ways it felt like an empty gesture, for he wouldn't know she was there, wouldn't smell the daisies she left behind, but worse would be to not acknowledge the day. Usually when she came she visited everyone, but today she sat by her younger brother's gravestone alone, remembering the days when they'd laughed and played together, and she wept as bitterly as she had on the day she lost him.

Narnia, Edmund, Choosing what's right during difficult times.
Good did not always mean right: that was a subtlety that Peter had never understood. Edmund saw a forest of branching possibilities, some paths better than others, better for others; his brother approached every problem like the flip of a coin - right or wrong, with no room for interpretation or doubt.

Yet in the end, Peter was more than just his brother - and so Edmund picked up the brightly colored rings in a handkerchief and prepared to follow his High King to the end of the world.

Free!, Haru/Makoto, city nights
Star Trek (any), any character, Forgive me, distant wars, for bringing flowers home
Kathryn Janeway felt like an ancient explorer, returning to a decrepit Old World court with strange tales of new land, bearing bright flowers and unknown fruits and tales of unimaginable mystery.

The Dominion War had ravaged Starfleet; even though Janeway had lost half her original crew (and gained another - she would keep reminding Starfleet of that until she was as blue as a Bolian), she had likely saved more lives by trapping them in the Delta Quadrant than if they had stayed home.

Or so they told her -- but as far as her own heart was concerned, the old guilt simply wore a new face.
